At 9:51 p.m. PST, Christian Ernst Weber, received the new life in Christ. While our hearts break at the loss we rejoice with the angels that he is at home with His Heavenly Father, that he now knows, as he once only was known and that while we see through the mirror dimly, he sees fully and sees us.

I had the distinct privilege of 23 years of marriage to him and the sacred honor of rocking him for the hour of his transition. Our children were on either side. It was our most intimate moment of our lives and we looked at one another. Faith, love and peace are in this room. HEALING has come...fully and completely. Thank you Great Physician!!

Grace for your journey,
Leigh

  3. Leigh, you don't know me, but I am a pastor friend of Riddick's. I just wanted you to know that I'll treasure the picture you painted for all of us as Chris came face to face with his Saviour.
We shall join you in prayer,

  4. Hi Leigh,

I don't know if you'll remember me. I was a graduate student at Duke with Chris. I last saw him about 18 months ago and a conference and regret that we were both on our way to different sessions and didn't talk.

Thanks so much for your wonderful thoughts and words. I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you and praying for you during this difficult time. Natalie Webb

  5. Leigh, we have not met but I am grateful that a friend asked me to pray for you and your family. Your family has walked a difficult road these last many months and you have done so with love, grace and dignity. May your family sorrow be softened by the knowledge that you will all someday be together again and that your journey touched more lives than you can ever know. Thank you for sharing your family struggles through this blog; your strength and openness have shown others how much we have to be grateful each and every day. The blessings surround us; we must remember to take the time to recognize and acknowledge them.

  6. Dear Leigh,

I believe we met when Chris played in the Sammamish Symphony Orchestra trumpet section with me. Maestro Joseph Scott forwarded your email, with the link to your postings. Please accept my condolences and those of the other musicians in the orchestra who knew Chris.

I remember Chris well, among other features for his kindness, bright smile, and powerful intelligence, as well as for his dedication and comaraderie in the orchestra's trumpet section. We all enjoyed him and missed his presence when his academic work required him to winnow some of his outside commitments.

Thank you for telling Joseph that Chris hoped to return to our group; we'd have liked that very much. We have an upcoming concert next weekend, our second at Benaroya Hall -- I remember how much Chris enjoyed the first time we played there two years ago. In fact, we're programming for a selection at the concert the work Chris performed with us in his debut performance with us in spring 2007. I will think of him looking over us during the concert; certainly my fond memories and thoughts of you in his family will be predominant in my mind during the concert.

If there is a memorial service about which I can inform the members of the orchestra, please let me know. (jfeil@sksp.com or phone at work 206-382-2600) Our hearts and prayers go out to you.

    yours sincerely,

    Jonathan Feil
